With Startup Street, Foodexpo provides startups with the best possible conditions to kickstart their growth journey. The initiative offers invaluable exposure as well as strong networking opportunities with key industry players. The Nordic region’s largest food trade fair takes place at MCH Messecenter Herning 22-24 March 2026.
Foodexpo supports the future stars of the food industry with its dedicated startup zone, Startup Street, which brings together a wide array of passionate, up-and-coming companies. Here, exhibitors are given the opportunity to raise awareness of their businesses in an area fully focused on innovation and the food solutions of the future.
Foodexpo’s Project Manager Pia Agerbo Bjerg, MCH A/S, is convinced that the fair has a responsibility to act as a forward-looking platform for entrepreneurs as well.
- As the Nordic region’s largest industry event for food professionals, the fair has a natural role in elevating the industry’s new stars. That’s why we offer startups the opportunity to exhibit under advantageous conditions with direct access to buyers and decision-makers. At the same time, professional kitchens get a unique chance to experience all the new products up close. All in all, the Startup Street can be seen as an investment in the future of the industry, states Pia Agerbo Bjerg.
Where new ideas meet reality
Among the exhibitors on Startup Street is CaterHero, who provides order management systems for event catering and lunch schemes and sees great value in Foodexpo’s focus on entrepreneurs:
- It is hugely important. Many of the solutions to the industry’s challenges come precisely from entrepreneurs who are closely connected to everyday practice. When Foodexpo makes room for startups, it creates a space where new ideas can meet reality, and where established players and new companies can inspire each other. That is healthy for the industry and helps drive development forward, says Mads Hansen, co-founder and Head of Customer Success at CaterHero, who has high expectations for the fair.
- Foodexpo is a unique opportunity to meet both current and future customers face to face. We expect to build new relationships, receive valuable feedback from the industry, and demonstrate that digitalisation does not have to be expensive, complex or time-consuming. For us, the fair is about visibility, partnerships and helping more catering businesses get started safely with a more efficient day-to-day operation.
Mads Hansen adds that CaterHero will bring a live demo of the company’s platform and generally provide a hands-on introduction to how it digitises everyday workflows and helps kitchens move “from chaos to control.”
Trade fair participation is hugely important
Chogo, which among other things produces chocolate bars for people with small appetites and patients, is also exhibiting on Startup Street - and the company will be bringing tasty samples.
- Visitors can expect to be introduced to our chocolate factory, which focuses on a plant-based approach to food production. They will also be offered samples of our popular products as well as a completely new product that will be unveiled for the first time. Overall, we are bringing many of our products - marzipan bars, our Livsstykker, which are small chocolate bars suitable for undernourished people and those with small appetites, and our brand-new, soft and delicious Danish protein bar, explains Alexander B. Schäffer, founder of Chogo, who finds it highly positive that Foodexpo ensures startups an attractive showcase through Startup Street.
- It is extremely important that there is a focus on entrepreneurship. That is where new trends emerge, and for a young company like ours, it is therefore hugely significant to participate in trade fairs and present our products. We are really looking forward to getting started, and we expect to meet a lot of passionate players and individuals from the food industry.
Alexander B. Schäffer adds that Chogo hopes to meet many potential customers and to return home from the fair with a solid number of leads.
