Foodexpo Launches New Trade Fair Concept
A completely new trade fair concept featuring 15 unique zones awaits visitors at next year’s Foodexpo, which, through this new structure, will bring together industry sectors in their own dedicated areas. The Nordic region’s largest event for food professionals will take place from March 22–24, 2026, at MCH Messecenter Herning.
Exhibitors at next year’s Foodexpo will, more than ever before, become part of strong product communities, while visitors can approach the fair with a clearer focus. These are two of the main benefits of the new layout, which defines 15 distinct zones—ensuring optimal visibility for all product categories and making navigation easier for attendees.
With zones such as Barista Boulevard, Green Path, Startup Street, Butchers Road and Gourmet Square, both industry synergy and visitor orientation are improved. Exhibitors have welcomed the new concept.
"One of the most exciting aspects is that we exhibitors will now join forces to represent specific categories together. It also becomes significantly easier for visitors to understand what each zone is all about," says Kenneth Sig Jensen, Sales Development & Execution Manager at Danish Crown.
Erik Nielsen, Market Manager (Foodservice) at Good Food Group, agrees:
"If you're really interested in something like bakery, you can now go directly to a zone entirely focused on that. And for us suppliers, it's valuable to be placed alongside others in our category—not only because it fosters networking, but also because it gives us insight into what’s happening in the market."
Trend Expert: Always a Good Idea to Rethink Your Concept
One of the main goals behind the new fair concept is to offer exhibitors the best possible conditions for jointly setting a strong agenda, establishing new standards, and increasing attention around their specific industry.
Trend institute pej gruppen also praises the concept, which allows exhibitors to elevate their categories together and helps visitors engage with the event more efficiently.
“It’s always a good idea to rethink your concept—especially as times change. The advantage of Foodexpo’s new format is that it makes it easier for both exhibitors and visitors to navigate the themed zones, making the trade fair even more exciting to attend,” says Louise Byg Kongsholm, CEO of pej gruppen. She adds that trade fairs in general must continuously present new and interesting features to stay relevant.
The Food Fair of the Future
The many positive responses from the industry are, of course, met with enthusiasm by the Foodexpo leadership, which has worked to create a concept that emphasizes professional knowledge, expertise, and inspiration within a meaningful framework.
“With this new concept, exhibitors are helping to shape the direction and future of the food trade fair. Naturally, we’re extremely pleased with the positive feedback we’re receiving from exhibitors and partners. We’ve made a dedicated effort to create a forward-looking concept that offers both exhibitors and visitors the best conditions for a rewarding trade fair experience. Now, we look forward to continuing the preparations leading up to the fair in March,” says Pia Agerbo Bjerg, Project Manager at Foodexpo.
Foodexpo will take place at MCH Messecenter Herning from March 22–24, 2026.
