Our Gattino Messara PDO is a 100% extra virgin olive oil of the highest cold-pressed variety, made exclusively from Koroneiki olives. The Messara growing region, on Crete, lies on a plateau near the sea at an altitude of approximately 400 meters. The ideal climate and nutrient-rich soil of the region produce uniquely fruity and high-quality olive oils.
The Koroneiki olive is one of the most popular in Greece, and its oil is among the best in the world. The high content of polyphenols, natural antioxidants, vitamin E, excellent organoleptic characteristics, and a very low acidity (below 0.4%) result in an exceptional olive oil.
