Kalu was established back in 1987 in the inner and vibrant Kødbyen in the middle of Copenhagen. From here, a renowned trading company was built, specializing in gourmet products, where one of the main specialties was French poussins and Bresse chickens.

Since then, the passion for the French and the love for top-class products have grown steadily. Today, Kalu imports and resells a wide range of carefully selected delicacies and specialties primarily from France, Italy, Spain and Denmark - with a focus on French poultry, lamb, Danish game, charcuterie, French specialties and seasonal products.

Over the years, Kalu has built a solid customer base and achieved great recognition among both consumers and industry experts. Kalu today has around 1000 product numbers distributed across 100 small and medium-sized producers, with whom we have close and long-term relationships.

The cornerstones of Kalu are honesty, credibility, integrity and an uncompromising passion for quality. These values ​​are crucial for which producers and partners we carefully select – always with respect for the raw materials, the history and the craftsmanship behind each product.
