Kalu was established back in 1987 in the inner and vibrant Kødbyen in the middle of Copenhagen. From here, a renowned trading company was built, specializing in gourmet products, where one of the main specialties was French poussins and Bresse chickens.

Since then, the passion for the French and the love for top-class products have grown steadily. Today, Kalu imports and resells a wide range of carefully selected delicacies and specialties primarily from France, Italy, Spain and Denmark - with a focus on French poultry, lamb, Danish game, charcuterie, French specialties and seasonal product
