How many new products can you actually make from one old bicycle? Apparently, we’re not quite done finding out.
Years ago, on one of our trips to India, we came across a collection of discarded bicycles. In a country where the bicycle is a highly valued means of transport, many of them have already had a long and hardworking life before finally being retired. But retirement doesn’t necessarily have to mean the end of the road.
Now, we’ve put another couple of old bicycles back to work. Armstrong features the front section of an old bicycle frame, while Merckx puts the rear section centre stage. Both are combined with a simple iron frame and wooden tabletop, creating two rather unconventional console tables with plenty of character.
Use them as console tables, display tables or rather effective conversation starters in shops, cafés, restaurants or anywhere an interior can handle a little extra edge.
Two old bicycle parts. Two new console tables. And another round of Recycle, Upcycle, Bicycle.
