From worn rubber to elegant vinyl – PS Matsal sought a floor that could reflect the restaurant’s atmosphere and experience. When PS Matsal in Stockholm needed to replace its old kitchen floor, they chose Altro Stronghold 30 – a non-slip and stylish floor that contributes to both peace of mind and atmosphere.
When the old floor – a classic rubber floor – started to slip in the joints and feel slippery, the need for a new one became clear. PS Matsal needed a floor that was not only functional, but also created the right atmosphere.
PS Matsal is far from an ordinary restaurant. Here, food enthusiasts, chefs and creatives meet in a kitchen where everything from product launches and photo shoots to private dinners and chef events are organized. Since its inception almost 25 years ago, Per Gustafson and his team have built a unique meeting place where food, people and the environment are in focus.
PS Matsal chose Altro Stronghold in the dark shade, Abyss, for its non-slip properties, elegance and to enhance the feeling PS Matsal wants to convey – carefully, without being snobbish.
After the installation, both guests and staff have responded positively, and the new floor has also opened up new ideas.
– Now we are considering creating a “chef's table” where you can sit by the kitchen during dinners. The floor is so beautiful that we would like to use the area more!
