Nyborg Strand Hotel & Conference Center is Denmark's largest conference hotel outside Copenhagen and serves up to 1,500 guests daily. In the 1,200 m² central kitchen, high demands are placed on the floor – it must be durable, non-slip and comfortable to work on during long working days.
“We had tiles before – they were smooth, hard and difficult to clean. Carts got stuck in the joints, and the decorations moved on the plate, making the serving messy,” says head chef Kasper Marcher Asmussen.
During the 2020 renovation, Altro Stronghold 30 was chosen to improve safety, acoustics and ergonomic comfort for staff. The floor was divided into colour zones for better flow. A Russet-coloured 'highway' runs through the kitchen, where people are not allowed to stand still. The contrast with the Skyline colour on the other surfaces ensures efficient operation and fewer accidents. Skyline also highlights the daylight from the many windows with its matt surface. The floor's shock-absorbing properties also reduce leg and back fatigue among employees.
After five years of daily use, the kitchen staff can speak from experience: The floor has prevented falls, reduced physical strain and created a more comfortable working environment. Now the carts run smoothly, employees stand stable all day, and the meals reach the guests exactly as planned.
Altro Stronghold 30 is an R12 rated slip resistant floor designed for busy commercial kitchens. It creates a safe, hygienic and comfortable working environment and is available in a range of colours for zone marking. The floor is easy to clean and looks good, even in constant moisture and heavy traffic.
