The Luups tray is a functional and sustainable product, designed to adapt to innovative changes within the food industry. To improve health and decrease food waste, canteens and restaurants transition to portion-serving meals rather than providing large buffets. However, handling several small meals served in different bowls and plates is a great challenge for users. The Luups Tray enables users to carry several items in one hand while collecting food with the other. It is ergonomic as the design invites to grab in the middle - thumb on the upper side and spread fingers on the bottom, perfectly balancing the weight. The material and texture complement the food experience, while the organic shape challenges conventional trays and nudges users to think about what and how much food they are collecting.
The design is food approved, hygienic, dishwashable and optimised for storage. It is designed for a circular economy, as it is a one-part product made from wood and PP composite, that is both extremely durable as well as recyclable.
The design comes in 2 sizes, and 5 different colours. Use is not limited to carrying food - the Luups Tray can be used for all imaginary applications.
