In this customer case, DS Smith has helped Niels & Grete develop new trays for their organic eggs, reducing the use of materials and making the tray much more sustainable.

The result is this innovative solution, which helps to support the company's green profile.

The eggs were previously packed in two traditional egg trays, which were wrapped in plastic and had a large label on top. This has now been replaced by a new and smarter solution, which is made of 100% recyclable material with branding directly on the cardboard. The fewer parts make it faster to pack, and the flexible holes in the top fit different sizes of eggs, while also making the tray more secure during transport.

Here, our creative designers, in collaboration with the customer, have really managed to hatch an innovative solution.
