The foodservice wholesaler Dagrofa Foodservice and the tech company FoodOp have joined forces in a new partnership designed to make it easier to run a professional kitchen. A digital assistant will help shift the focus toward the joy of cooking and the fight against food waste in a busy everyday life.

Dagrofa Foodservice Maduniverset is the name of a new digital assistant that will help the wholesaler’s customers with faster menu planning, culinary inspiration, calculation of organic percentages, and climate reporting.

The digital assistant is the result of a new strategic partnership between Dagrofa Foodservice and the tech company FoodOp, which was founded in 2020. FoodOp specializes in developing digital tools that, based on data and artificial intelligence, help restaurants and canteens, for example, plan menus and combat food waste.

A number of software modules from FoodOp have now been integrated into Dagrofa Foodservice’s webshop. As a result, thousands of professional kitchens now gain access to, among other things, menu inspiration with 30,000 recipes and targeted business tools (cost and sales price calculations, CO₂ footprint, etc.), all integrated with the purchasing function in the webshop.

Michael Christensen, CEO of Dagrofa Foodservice, says:

“One of the biggest challenges for Danish eateries is simply a lack of manpower and a shortage of time. With the launch of Dagrofa Foodservice Maduniverset, we are accelerating our ambition to make it much easier to run a professional kitchen. I am very pleased that, through the new partnership with FoodOp, we are introducing a targeted technological solution that in practice makes a positive difference to the day-to-day operations of kitchens.”

Nichlas Saul, CEO and co-founder of FoodOp, adds:

“The partnership with Dagrofa Foodservice is a major step for FoodOp, as our digital assistant becomes available to a large part of the Danish food scene.”

He concludes:

“We have a clear mission to tackle some of the biggest time thieves in the kitchen, and with a single click the chef can now purchase supplies, create budgets, and generate CO₂ and organic accounts. This means far less administration and much more time to create great food experiences for guests. At the same time, kitchens gain far better conditions for preventing food waste based on data insights, and our experience shows that these tools make a significant difference in practice.”

The new collaboration with FoodOp will be officially presented at ‘Madscenen – for professionals’, which takes place on Wednesday, September 10 at TAP1 in Copenhagen. The event is an inspiration fair aimed at professional kitchens and is held annually by Dagrofa Foodservice.
