Martin and James were bored of the industrially brewed lagers and stuffy ales that dominated the UK beer market. Therefore they decided that the best way to fix this undesirable predicament was to brew their own. Consequently in April 2007 BrewDog was born.

Both only 24 at the time, Martin and James leased a building in Fraserburgh, got some scary bank loans, spent all their money on stainless steel and started making some hardcore craft beers. They brewed tiny batches, filled bottles by hand and sold their beers at local markets and out of the back of their beat up old van.

The biggest mission when setting up BrewDog was to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as they are. And that is still their biggest mission today.

Longboard Island Lager is a smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for weeks at cold temperatures to yield its exceptionally smooth flavour. A delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma complements the malty body of this beer. Longboard Island Lager typically pairs well with lighter fare but has enough flavour and body to stand up to some heartier foods too. Try some with herb chicken on mixed greens, garlic twists or Greek pizza.

Kona Big Wave Golden Ale 4.4 %
A light, balanced and easy going beer. The brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavour – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and the special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. Big Wave is an excellent choice after a day of snorkeling, surfing or just hanging out. Its lighter body and bright hop aroma and taste makes it a natural to enjoy with seafood, poultry, salads and light pasta dishes

Hanalei 4,5 %
Hanalei Island IPA is a refreshing fruit-forward IPA created in honor of the lush Hawaiian Island of Kauai, also known as the Garden Isle, and Hawaii’s beloved classic POG juice, a blend of passionfruit, orange and guava.

Hanalei Island IPA is named after the historic town of Hanalei and world-famous Hanalei Bay, a magnificent crescent shaped bay tucked against lush green mountains streaked with waterfalls. Available year-round, Hanalei Island IPA is the perfect beer to enjoy in California’s warm coastal climate, and to accompany casual Californian fare such as seafood, tacos, pizza or pasta dishes.

Magners Original 4,5 %
“The Cider” - Seventeen varieties of apples dancing on ice.
When William Magner set out to make Ireland’s greatest cider in 1935, this is what he came up with. We’ve barely changed it since then, but why would we? Made with 17 different varieties of fallen apples, pressed and then kept in the dark to mature for a couple of years, it is the crispest, most refreshing way to celebrate any moment.

Tasting notes: Well rounded taste with balanced acidity and sweetness. Has a delicate but deep fruity flavour derived from fresh ripe apples with hints of oak and spicy vine fruits.

The Perfect Perry, pressed purely from premium pears.

We all need a bit of variety and that’s why we came up with the idea for Magners Pear.

Of course we like to do things properly so when we set out to create our Pear Cider, we knew that there were two things we needed to stand by: it had to be made 100% from the best pears (you’d be surprised how many “pear” ciders aren’t); and it had to be as good as Magners Original. We definitely kept to the first rule. Why don’t you grab a few bottles of pear cider, a bag of ice and some good friends to see if we kept the second?

Tasting notes: Distinctive character and a delicately refreshing taste of pears, sweet and dry on the finish.

There are two great times of year to drink Magners Berry; when it’s summer and when it’s not. So it doesn’t matter whether you’re celebrating the sunshine or just missing it; nothing calls to mind hot lazy days like the taste of strawberries, blackcurrants and raspberries blended with crisp, refreshing pear cider. Either way, now is a good time.
