Martin and James were bored of the industrially brewed lagers and stuffy ales that dominated the UK beer market. Therefore they decided that the best way to fix this undesirable predicament was to brew their own. Consequently in April 2007 BrewDog was born.

Both only 24 at the time, Martin and James leased a building in Fraserburgh, got some scary bank loans, spent all their money on stainless steel and started making some hardcore craft beers. They brewed tiny batches, filled bottles by hand and sold their beers at local markets and out of the back of their beat up old van.

The biggest mission when setting up BrewDog was to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as they are. And that is still their biggest mission today.

A light, balanced and easy going beer. The brewers wanted to make a beer that went down easy after a day out on the water. Big Wave Golden Ale is just the ticket. Big Wave is a lighter bodied golden ale with a tropical hop aroma and flavour – a smooth, easy drinking refreshing ale. The use of caramel malt contributes to the golden hue of this beer and the special blend of hops provides bright quenching finish. Big Wave is an excellent choice after a day of snorkeling, surfing or just hanging out. Its lighter body and bright hop aroma and taste makes it a natural to enjoy with seafood, poultry, salads and light pasta dishes

Hanalei Island IPA is a refreshing fruit-forward IPA created in honor of the lush Hawaiian Island of Kauai, also known as the Garden Isle, and Hawaii’s beloved classic POG juice, a blend of passionfruit, orange and guava.
